Clean pores = small pores

Clean pores = small pores

Awhile back during a facial, the technician mentioned my pores would be smaller if I had regular facials. Being the frugal beauty connoisseur that I am, I asked if regular masks would achieve the same result. She agreed once a week would help, but still recommended monthly facials. My budget has not allowed following of her advice on facials, but I still try to sneak in weekly masks. In addition, I began thinking about particular cleansers that would deep cleanse and unclog pores to assist in the process. I’m still struggling somewhat with noticeable pores (my mom says our genes are to blame icon sad Clean pores = small pores ), but the following products and routine have helped:

Use a weekly mask. I like Queen Helene Mud Mask ($3.99).

Unclog pores regularly. Try CVS Oil Free Cream Cleanser ($4.49) a few times per week. For an even deeper clean (with the added bonus of exfoliation!), use a washcloth and massage into skin.

Tone your way to smaller pores. Using toner daily (if your skin can tolerate it without drying out) or several times per week will shrink your pores. I’m partial to Dickinson’s Witch Hazel ($5.99).

Get by with a little help from some friends. I’m no stranger to pore minimizer products, and I prefer them blended in makeup primers. Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Luminizing Face Primer is a steal at $9.99. Bare Escentuals Prime Time Foundation Primer ($21.00) is also a great but more expensive option.
