Makeup application doesn’t need to involve a ton of products or time. Restore your sanity and positive relationship with makeup! You can get away with tinted moisturizer, clear mascara (or Vaseline) on eyes and brows, along with some blush and lip gloss if you’re pressed for time.  Sometimes, I walk out the door with tinted moisturizer and gloss, or simply moisturizer.  Have fun and play with the recommendations to get your desired semi-natural look.

Use tinted moisturizer. Great in place of regular moisturizer and foundation. If you have time, follow with highlighting blush, sweep on finishing powder, apply clear mascara to eye lashes and brows, put on lip gloss, and go! You’ll be surprised how much more awake you look while at the same time not being overdone!

Need more coverage? After applying tinted moisturizer, brush on mineral foundation, then apply concealer under eyes and any unsightly spots. Follow with blush and finishing powder

Time for more? The recommended concealer has eye primer already in it. Apply eye shadow over the top using the lightest shade as the base from lash line to eyebrow with an eye shadow brush. Apply the darkest shade in the crease.  Gently pull eyelid toward ear to apply eyeliner along upper lash lines from inner to outer corners. I use eyeliner only on the top eyelid to make my eyes look more pronounced. Using it on the lower lash line tends to make eyes look smaller. If necessary, use eyeliner smudger to straighten out eyeliner, and a beauty wedge to wipe off eyeliner that went beyond the eyelid. Use your ring finger to soften any noticeable lines left from the eye shadow that were not blended in with the eye shadow brush.  Apply waterproof mascara with a wiggling motion of the hand, and use a mascara brush to take out any clumps. Finish with some brow mascara, and follow with the mascara brush to soften the impact. If desired, put on a sheer or stay on lip gloss (less drying than stay on lipstick).

About the Author

You can call me Tranquil Beauty. After spending a good portion of my life being disillusioned by my mind, I’m finally on a path led by my true self. I'm here because I've been blessed by the wisdom of so many others who powerfully emulate what it means to live guided by their own purpose. I'm profoundly grateful to share the knowledge I’ve gained after being enlightened by Neale Donald Walsch, Rick Warren, Eckhart Tolle, and Shakti Gawain (to name only a few). I feel this wisdom has permeated my being and shifted my focus from the past and the limitations of my mind to a state of pure consciousness that seeks to honor my true self. I've been a personal development fanatic since 1999. Some books that have influenced the website include Friendship with God, The Purpose Driven Life, The Power of Now, A New Earth, and Creative Visualization. My passion for beauty started at a very young age. Though primarily driven by personal struggles with fine curly hair and combination skin, my beauty expertise grew over the years from devouring numerous beauty publications and trying mounds of products. After wasting piles of money testing top of the line products, I've learned that expensive beauty products aren’t necessarily better products. Making a commitment to realize your beauty inside and out is a choice each and every moment. I believe strongly that we all have an innate power to create fulfilling lives. I vow to accept nothing less for those who wish to join me on that journey!
